Easter Saturday and Spring Show day – would it
be a good or bad combination? It was later than we had hoped to hold the show
and the weather decided to test the growers even more. Even the judge had hoped
to be watching Arsenal that afternoon (but thankfully we gave him much more
cheerful entertainment)
When the tables were filled with exhibits I was
pleased with not only the number of entries but also with the quality. Although
there seemed to be slightly fewer people looking round after the judging they
all enjoyed the exhibits and the wonderful display of Pleione hardy orchids
shown by Ron Bowler (thank you Ron).
If you did put in exhibits many thanks. If you
didn’t you ought to give it a try, it’s not difficult to find one or two
flowers and we’ll help you to decide which class they belong in if you are
unsure.
We have already decided to add a class for
Hyacinths but if anyone has any other suggestions for additional classes please
let me know.
