Summer Show 2006

After such a dry summer providing difficult growing conditions I was pleased to see such a good turn out. Entries were only slightly down on last year, 270 compared to 288, but as ever the quality remained very high. Of particular note were all the flower exhibits and the Onion and Shallot classes. Particular contratulations to the members who managed to produce French and Runner beans in such dry conditions.

We also had excellent entries in the produce and cooking classes including a mouthwatering selection of jams, cakes, flans and quiches. The photography section continues to gain in popularity and there was a good selection of childrens decorated biscuits and “vegetable” animals.

It would be nice to see more entries in the novices classes and if you want to get some advice on what to do to get vegetables suitable for showing don’t hesitate to contact any of the FGA committee or drop a line via e-mail.
